Back…and AMPED!

Baby bliss? Not in my first trimester, but now that it’s over I’m back on my feet and ready to move forward!

Dear Zoey,
I know, this update is long overdue (Sorry, you can blame it on your baby brother or sister-to-be!) Anyway, two months ago I had my first gig! And it’s all thanks to a former co-worker, Tanya. When I received a text message from her to see if I could take photos for “AMPED,” a work charity event at Tattoo Rock Parlour, I jumped on it. She specifically wanted me to take shots of the bands and more specifically her boyfriend Eric, the drummer. She wanted to surprise him with photos for his birthday.

I was as excited as I was nervous. It’s not how I pictured my first gig as I’ve had no experience shooting a rock event or ever thought I would. I mean, no one has their wedding reception or family photos done at Tattoo Rock Parlour, do they? Anyway, I was up for the challenge and thankful for the opportunity. There was great energy that night and the bands totally rocked the house!

Here’s to taking the stage. And the first step.
