Happy Father’s Day
Here’s to the laundry never getting done, the dishes piling up, yard work getting neglected, the growing list of things to do, going to bed tired and waking up even more tired, running late, running late and never being able to find the keys, barely getting out the door, running back in the door to get the diaper bag, running back in for a missing something, meltdowns of the two year old, mommy and daddy meltdowns, timeouts for the two year old (but never any timeouts for us), spilt milk, built up frustrations, losing our minds, scrambling to make scrambled eggs in the morning, scattered brains, forgetting what a peaceful meal feels like, always feeling like we’re on the go, trying to catch our breath, always being busy and never getting anything done, taking a deep breath in, exhaling, FINALLY putting our girls to bed and squeezing in time to write this.
Here’s to the crazy life of two. Our life can get out of control at times (all the time!), but it’s in those moments in between that we find time to let loose, be silly, share a laugh or even a hug that make the stresses and whirlwinds of life so small and insignificant. It’s in those moments that we forget how busy and hard the days are. It’s in those moments when it’s just us four and I wouldn’t want our perfectly imperfect life any other way or with any other.
Jason, you are my best friend, my rock, my everything. Thank you for everything you do. We’re the perfect team and it’s only through our Heavenly Father that we can overcome anything life throws at us.
This Father’s Day, we are reminded of the simple joys no matter how complicated life gets.
I want to say I’m so proud of who you are and the father you’ve become.
I love you and there’s no doubt your other two girls do too. Happy Father’s Day to the one we love so much.
xo,
J
