Little One
Dear Romy,
Your warm bear hugs first thing in the morning
Your sweet puppy kisses at the end of a long day.
Your bright smile that fills my heart.
Your infectious laugh that fills our home.
It’s the little things you do that go a long way.
Your obsession for Ninja Kids, monkey bars and salt & vinegar chips.
Your appetite for ham, gummies and macaroni and cheese.
Your passion for fashion, snacking and drawing the most thoughtful pictures.
Your fear of dogs, haunted houses and “scary rides.”
Your curiosity for spicy food, makeup and anything that makes you a “big girl.”
Your love for Easter egg hunts, puppies and tickles from Appa.
You may be little but the things you do show us that you’re actually larger than life.
These are the little things about you that makes you simply and wonderfully you.
Romy, I can go on and on about all the little things I adore about you.
Like how you can chat up a storm and talk my ear off when it’s just me and you.
Or when you do that side-to-side jaw thing that without fail makes me laugh out loud.
Or when you roll your eyes back and make the most seriously silliest faces that always brings a smile to mine.
I cherish every itty bitty bit of you, my dear little one.
You may be our littlest, but you remind me in the mightiest way that every little bit goes a long way.
Happy 6th Birthday my “little” big girl.
We’ve been counting down to this moment since t-minus one hundred days.
Anticipating this very day like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, we knew something really special, somebody worth celebrating was waiting at the end.
Little by little, you’ve come a long way. You’ve shown me that a little one like you can grow in big ways and go far beyond what I could ever imagine.
Never doubt the little things. Never underestimate the small acts of kindness you can do and the little light you can be. Always remember that a little peace, a little hope, a little joy, and a little love can go farther, deeper and higher than we could ever dream or know.
Romy, you’ve already grown to be a big light in our world so never doubt or underestimate the little in you.
J
