Moments

Dear Jason,
Time.
Feels like we never have enough of it these days.
And then there are days when we just want it to pass.
We never have enough and yet it’s all we have.
The days may feel long, but the years are truly short.
Sometimes a moment can feel like a lifetime, but when we look back, a lifetime will feel like a fleeting moment. Life is short.
Make time for the things that make you happy and make the most of it or else these moments will just pass us by. Life happens now.

Take the time to make moments.
As tough as it is, take the time from your never-ending pile of work to write a very special someone, a very special Birthday message.
Take the time from taking care of your kids to take care of yourself.
Take the time from your endless to-do list to do all the things that make life good.
Take the time to eat cake, lie under a tree, leave the city, pray, sing in the car, dance in the rain, shoot a basketball, connect with new friends, reconnect with old, enjoy a good read, call your mom, hug your kids, tell someone they’re loved, snap a photo for a blog post even if it means cutting into your cranky kids’ bedtime, just because.
Take the time to make time for the simple yet significant things.
You’ll be happy you did.

Jason, it would take me a lifetime to let you know how much you mean to me and our three beautiful girls but I’ll sum it in these few words.
Happy Birthday, super dad, my friend, my husband, my everything.

Life isn’t what’s given to us, but what we make of it with the time we have.
Time is a gift. Enjoy every moment of it.
Here’s to another year, together.
Love,
J
