7th Year Stretch

Family October B&W Collage

Dear Jason,
When it was just you and me, our walk was simple.
Hand in hand, side by side, we made a vow to walk in the same direction no matter what life threw our way.

When it was you, me and Zoey, we were suddenly pulled left.
When it was you, me, Zoey and Emma, we were pulled left and right.
Now it’s you, me, Zoey, Emma and Romy and we’re being pulled left, right and centre.

Now our walk isn’t as simple. We’re constantly being pulled in a million and one different directions.
But even when we find ourselves stretched so thin that we have nothing left in us to give, we’re always left with something much greater. We’re left with love. Left, right and centre.

I know it feels like we’re drowning more than half the time, but the optimist in me says it’s because our cup is overflowing. I’m truly happy and grateful for the gift of family. Having you, Zo, Em and Ro in my life are constant reminders of God’s unconditional and perfect love.
It makes me realize that more than the journey itself, what matters most are the people who walk it with you.
You guys are the pep in my step, the beat of my heart and the reason I keep going, growing and pushing myself to be the best I can be.

Happy 7th Anniversary to the man who has journeyed by my side as a friend, as a boyfriend, as a best friend, as a husband and now as an appa. 7 years and 3 beautiful girls later, you still reach for our hands and hold us tighter with every step. Like when Emma spots a dog or I spot a SALE sign – then your grip becomes freakishly strong.
You hold our family together and we love you for it.

It’s the 7th Year Stretch and a lot of days, it’s really proven to be a stretch.
It’s time to stand up, breathe, cheer our team on and give thanks and glory to our God for the past 7 years together. It was in those years that our love has stretched left to right, east to west and will continue to do so whichever direction we go.

No matter where our walk takes us, one thing is certain. We’ve got each other covered. Left, right and centre.
J
